For the first time ever, PEAS has bought two new schools in Uganda that were at risk of closure due to the pandemic, and this month we enjoyed celebrating the launch of Town View PEAS School and PEAS Horizon High School.

This marks the first time PEAS has bought existing schools, allowing us to provide a quality PEAS education to more students.

After the world’s longest school closures during Covid-19, many schools sadly closed while others reopened in early 2022. Thankfully, we were in a unique position to provide support and maintain access for students in the communities.

Acquiring existing schools to operate under the PEAS network provides several direct benefits to children in the region, who will receive the same quality education as other PEAS schools and benefit from the model that has proven successful across our network.

The schools have sparked excitement and praise in the communities. At Horizon, PEAS’ extra support for girls with a fence, as well as the safeguarding policy, has been commended by parents.

While students shared their excitement about the new schools, many are now looking forward to joining the many clubs offered at PEAS schools, such as girls clubs, writers clubs, geography clubs, and entrepreneurship clubs.
