PEAS’ monitoring and evaluation (M&E) department exists to evidence, inform, and improve PEAS’ work to expand access to sustainably delivered, quality secondary education across Africa.

We undertake a range of regular data collection, analysis, and reporting activities in country to provide evidence to our teachers, school leaders, staff, and partners on what is working and what is not – including looking regularly at areas including the demographic backgrounds of our students, principal barriers to participation in education, and student and teacher perceptions of school quality.

PEAS’ commitment to being a data-driven organisation means that our M&E activities span the full range from defining what impact we want to achieve, through to facilitating programme learning based on evidence. Our core monitoring and evaluation objectives are summarised in the diagram below:
