Sarah Ntiiro High School opened near the town of Mayuge, about an hour's drive from Jinja, in eastern Uganda. Sarah Ntiiro is one of our medium sized schools, but it is ever growing.

The name, Sarah Ntiiro, commemorates the first ever female graduate from Uganda's top university, Makerere University. She acts as a source of inspiration to the young people who are part of the school.

Thanks to Hazel's Footprints Trust, the school is getting a permanent kitchen building with efficient wood burning stoves which will make cooking lunch for the students much easier for the kitchen staff. The school also has a sports field where students can play football after school.  To read about Akumu, a student at Sarah Ntiiro High School, click here.

Over half of Uganda's population is under the age of 15.
