Forest High School

A new school for 2008 in Kikandwa, Mubende district, Uganda

Forest High School opened in February 2008, serving the local community of Kikandwa, in Mubende District, Western Uganda.

PEAS has worked in partnership with the New Forests Company in Uganda to build the school, with each party providing half the total cost of its development. You can find out more about the New Forests Company by visiting our partners page.

We worked with architects in the UK and Uganda to develop the site plan and designs for the school, which has 7 classrooms, a library (paid for by UK artist, Tracey Emin), a laboratory, 2 boarding houses, modern sanitary facilities and an administration block.

The school is led by a local Director of Finance and Development and over 200 students enrolled in the first term. The school caters for both day and boarding students.
